Comment below on our purpose and assumptions
http://ffbestpractices.blogspot.com/
is a group blog to share faith formation best practices in the family, parish
and school for:
- parents, grandparents, godparents
- pastors, parish personnel, committee members, parishioners
- chaplains, school personnel, students, alumni, benefactors
Family, parish and school are closely bound as partners to
assist their members in lifetime growth as virtuous persons in community. A family
is the first school of love and parents
the primary educators. A parish is an enduring Christian community forming faith through its life of word and
sacrament. A school is a family of hope
focused on developing students’ assets for service in the world.
The first authors of this blog are associated with Newman
Catholic High School and Middle School in Wausau, Wisconsin. Our focus is the
growth of adolescents in the virtues of love, faith and hope. Understanding
characteristics of children and varied adult roles for evangelization are
necessary points on our compass. We are open to making institutional
contributions for many aspects of Catholic education, including adult formation
and organizational development.
We welcome participation from other schools, faith communities,
and agencies, especially those who minister to and with adolescents.

You will notice some influence of a change strategy called
“appreciative inquiry.” For an introductory definition click: https://appreciativeinquiry.case.edu/intro/whatisai.cfm So, we start …
- What are we doing well serving adolescents?
- What best practices can we recommend?
- Building on our positive core what changes can we discover, dream and design for practicing the science and art of faith (hope and love) formation?
