Leo Jacoby

I have been active in church education since 1971 when I graduated from Boston College with a liberal arts degree, BA in English and Philosophy. I have worked mostly in Catholic parish and deanery settings; four years at First United Methodist Church in Wauasu; Spring 2016 quarter teaching Old Testament, Christian Morality and Social Justice at Newman Catholic High School. More details of my past experiences in a resume (that needs updating) at: www.wctc.net/~wisdom/lj_002.htm

I have wide and eclectic interests and a passion for ideas and their packages, whether websites or the 50,000 books I have collected. Latest acquisitions at: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/PC-jacoby

In a masters program at Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN Tom Etten introduced me to wholistic ways to think about religious education, including the work of Scottish philosopher, John Macmurray. I earned a masters in Pastoral Studies in the LIMEX program of Loyola University, New Orleans, and was introduced to the seminal work of Bernard Lonergan, S.J.  I list my college and graduate courses at:www.wctc.net/~wisdom/lj_004.htm

This blog website is my latest learning adventure.

Devery Quandt

I graduated from Lakeland College in 1973, with a degree in Biology and licensed to teach grades 7-10 for life science and biology. I have been with NCS from my first position at St. Anne's School starting in August 1973. We were a K-8 school originally and later took on preschool and then became part of the consolidation effort in 1987. I was appointed the teacher in charge and then became Principal in 1987 and did that for four years. In 1991, I became principal at St. Matthew's Middle School and did that for four years also.

I missed teaching a lot and so resumed teaching in 1995 at the 8th grade level. Then when we moved to the Newman building, I taught at the 7th and 8th grade levels. So, as I start my 44th year, I am still anxious to resume my teaching ministry and find myself more grateful than ever to be part of this vibrant and soulful community!

Lastly, since we know change is ever constant, I continue to embrace new teachers and a new year of growth. I look forward to working with Leo and my other community members as we engage in a dialogue that is so positive and promising!

Regards, Devery 7/27/16
